The Secret to having a more balanced, healthier Dog.
Making sure your pup gets proper socialization and playtime is one of the secrets to having an overall more balanced, healthier dog. A lot of behavioral problems we encounter as Dog Trainers could actually be avoided or will disappear with proper physical exercise and mental stimulation. Play and interaction keeps a dog’s body and mind active – resulting in healthier, happier and better behaving pups.
With today’s busy and hectic lifestyles, properly exercising and socializing our dogs is not always an easy task. Your crazy schedule may have your four-legged family member stuck home alone a lot. Over time you run the risk of creating mental boredom. This often leads to a variety of behavioral issues, such as excessive barking, digging and destructive behaviors. Not to mention too much energy for you to want to handle when you are exhausted from a busy day.
More importantly though, lack of proper exercise will lead to a decrease of overall fitness and raise the potential for obesity in your pup. Chubby isn’t cute. In fact, you could be shortening your dog’s life span by up to two years, as recent studies have shown.
Ever feel your Dog is getting the short end of the Stick?
Treating your dog to Doggie Daycare not only makes your pup happy. It also takes care of the guilt you may be feeling for leaving your four-legged family member home by itself for longer periods of time. Doggie Daycare further eliminates the need to worry about what your pooch may be doing “home alone”.
Are you up for the “chore” of entertaining your bored and well-rested dog after you come home from a long, stressful day? Wouldn’t it be nice to get to relax and snuggle with your pooch instead? So, why not just drop your pup at Doggie Daycare before you go to work, run errands or simply want to spend some downtime, and pick up a happy and relaxed dog, who will gladly just “chill” with you?
Social Hour for your Pooch
Even if you do get to spend a lot of time with your four-legged companion – dogs are pack animals by nature, who still need and enjoy to play with other dogs. It <strong”>increases their social skills and can help prevent or lessen some issues you may already have been experiencing with your pup in the interaction with other dogs.
Doggie Daycare for the Pre-Scholars: Puppy Kindergarten
Aside from exercise and proper training early on, socialization is one of the most important aspects of raising a dog, and so it comes as no surprise that puppies, too, benefit from interaction with their own kind. Having puppies just freely roam with adult dogs is only advisable under certain circumstances and can do more harm than good. Our “Puppy Kindergarten” provides a safe environment for the youngsters. They learn how to interact, properly play and practice their social skills from a young age on, with moderated introduction to adult dogs in a controlled and safe manner.
Puppy Kindergarten at Karma K9 is supervised by educated dog trainers – any signs of potentially problematic behaviors, can be addressed before they become full grown problems. And hey, let’s face it: as cute as they are, raising a puppy is hard work and lots of stress – so why not give yourself a break, too?
Affordable Options for every Wallet!
Doggie Daycare is affordable. You decide how often you bring your pooch to play – any one time is better than none! And there are different options available to help keep the cost down even for the frequent visitors to daycare. For those of you who are already starting to see behavioral issues, letting you pup attend Doggie Daycare just a few times a week, may prevent the need for corrective training or behavior modification down the road – which will definitely run up the bill much higher! The same goes for potential vet visits, of course, if your beloved pooch turns into a couch potato and packs on the pounds or ends up eating parts of the couch it tore up out of sheer boredom…
A Doggie Daycare where your Pup really gets to “be Dog”…
Daycare at Karma K9 is pure nature fun – all day long. No limited playtime rotation, “dog suites” or “patios” (sounds nice, but really just fancy names for in- or outdoor kennel runs).
The four-legged Doggie Daycare visitors at Karma K9 get to let loose! Play, splash in the water or lounge in the shade all day – just as they please. No indoor “messes”, potentially compromising your pup’s housebreaking. No having to hold it all day for dog’s that are clean.
While we do have 2,500 sf of indoor space to offer our canine-guests in case of bad weather, there is nothing like the pure joy of a pup that is able to just “be dog” in a natural environment. Real outdoors, real grass, and you guessed it: real dirt. Since it’s pretty safe to say, that us humans don’t enjoy dirt nearly as much as our dogs (at least not the grown up ones among us), we include complimentary baths in each visit (2hr Drop & Shop excluded). You get to pick up not just a happy and tired, but also squeaky clean pooch from ears to paws – ready for some snuggle time!
How to get accepted into Doggie Daycare at Karma K9
Being Dog Trainers and Animal Behaviorists first, we put strong emphasis on proper pairing of dogs in our daycare to ensure a safe and fun environment. Ample Daycare Play & Rest Areas allow us to group dogs according to age, size, activity level and temperament. We, therefore, do not have any age or breed restrictions and will also accept intact males & females (must not be in heat!).
We require every dog to pass a Temperament Test & Health Check, before allowed into Doggie Daycare. Puppies three months and younger do not have to pass a temperament test and are only required to have age-appropriate vaccinations. On your first visit, you will need to fill out the necessary paperwork and provide us with your pup’s current health records. The latter should show that your dog is current on Rabies, DHLPP and negative for intestinal parasites (recent Fecal Test).
Call or text us at (904) 372-3559 to set up an appointment for your first visit. After paperwork is out of the way and we have your vet records on file, you may leave your dog with us that same day. Before letting your pup join the Daycare fun on the first visit, we will perform our Temperament Test and then “unleash” your pooch with the proper play group. We do also have single dog Daycare Fields and Outdoor Runs, where your little munchkin can still enjoy playtime for the day, should we not deem your pup suitable for Daycare around other dogs at this time.
