Facts about Dogs & Water
You may be surprised, but not all dogs instinctively know how to swim and quite a few dogs are actually not comfortable going into the water in the first place. This may vary for different bodies of water – going into a pond may be fun, while your pup might be afraid of the ocean waves chasing him or the crystal clear, but seemingly bottomless pool at your home. Dogs perceive water in different ways and their fear may have different reasons. Most commonly, losing ground under their paws some dogs begin to panic, exerting a lot of energy fast. This can be life threatening, if your dog is unsupervised for even just a few short minutes or you can’t get to your dog quick enough. There are safe and fun ways to teach your dog to overcome any fear and learn how to swim with confidence,. We will gladly show you how!
Improving Your Dog’s Health the Fun Way!
The “wet addition” to our Training Center also serves as the perfect environment to incorporate low-impact aquatic exercise for dogs with mobility issues or physical disabilities, too much weight, arthritis, dysplasia etc. The liquid environment provides the support needed to minimize stress on their joints, while providing the resistance necessary to burn access fat, strengthen weak muscles and build cardiovascular endurance.
